Kazi announces his Birthday December 30th, as the release date for his debut EP, “4 the Love of The Game.” The Virginia rapper took to social media to share his displeasure of receiving gifts for his birthday, instead, he prefers to gift his supporters in the form of his first EP.

The new EP titled “4 The Love of The Game” gives you a glimpse into the mind of the 23-year-old Richmond native. Kazi provides mesmerizing harmonies combined with lyrics that reflect on the risks he’s taken in life, and the toll that’s taken on him and his loved ones. From songs like “Low” that detail how fighting a case caused a rift in his relationship, and songs like “Still Love” where he discusses his how lifestyle drove a wedge between him and his mother. For this project Kazi reached out to longtime collaborator Jon Keysley, who has also been making a name for himself working with Pusha T signees: Why Not Duce and Shaoilinn. The two collaborated to capture a vibe as chilling as the early winter release date alludes to, Keysley’s soul-southing guitar riffs and somber piano solos serve as the perfect soundtrack for Kazi as he reflects on if the risks were worth the reward.

Raised in Richmond, Virginia, A city known for its elevated murder rate, Kazi divided his time between athletics and the streets. In College, he began throwing parties and trying his hand out in the studio. It was during this time that he founded “Love & Loyalty Music Group” or 2LMG for short. — a Local creative collective. During the pandemic, his debut single “C’est La Vie” went viral in many social circles and increased his momentum. As a result of the success of “C’est La Vie” Kazi garnered the opportunities to open for Chaz French, Shordie Shordie, & Capella Gray.
